Love Conquers Hate
This community mural was created for the YMCA and the non-profit organization Harmony Project located in Columbus, Ohio. I designed this mural in a way that allowed volunteers and community members to contribute to the painting process. The vision for the mural is that it would speak a positive and impactful message to the youth of this area.

Project Timeline
The mural project began with a week of consulting the community, the YMCA, and the Harmony Project to gather input and ensure the design reflected their collective vision. Over the next two weeks, the mural design was developed with this input in mind, followed by a week dedicated to arranging logistics, supplies, and ladders needed for the installation. Once preparations were complete, the mural was carefully drawn onto the wall over two days, paving the way for five days of collaborative painting that involved extensive community participation.

Community Involvement
I designed this mural in a way that allowed volunteers and community members to contribute to the painting process. The mural was designed with flat colors. Fewer than 10 colors were used for simplicity. Groups of volunteers were invited to participate in the process on a shift-by-shift basis. The mural was designed to reflect and represent the community members and YMCA members. One way this was accomplished was to spell the word Love in different languages on the right side of the mural. I painted this mural along with 2 professional artists and volunteers.
